MILESTONES OF THE DEPARTMENT

1. Plastic surgery started in 1953.

2. M. Ch. plastic surgery course accredited by MCI in 1969.

3. Central air conditioning and supply of gases in 1971

4. Physiotherapy unit started in 1972

5. Speech therapy unit started in 1973

6. Dental and prosthetic lab started in 1973

7. Full fledged department created in 1976.

8. Carl Zeiss operating microscope in 1977 (2nd one to be imported in the country).

9. First floor of department commissioned on 1979.

10. First successful limb replantation in 1995

11. R.N. Sharma lecture and foundation instituted in 2003

12. Joint Cleft Lip & Palate Clinic started on 3rd April,2003. (Now on 1st Thursday of each month).

13. Smile Train Project in November 2003.

14. Second floor of depart. commissioned on 22 Dec., 2003.

15. Joint Hand Clinic started on 18th March, 2004.

16. Cranio-facial Surgery started in 2005

17. Special Keloid clinic (2nd Thursday of each month) started in 2006.

18. Brachial plexus Surgery started in 2006.

22. Many newer techniques and innovation in plastic surgery have been developed. Viz. jaw lengthening, skin culture, microsurgery, etc.
